How Void handles your data ↗A few things worth knowing
Safari content blockers can block page resources and hide matching elements. DNS filtering works at the domain level, including requests from other apps. It can’t remove individual page elements or block every ad served from the same domain as wanted content.
No. Basic Safari blocking, optional cookie rejection, one Safari list, one DNS list, one custom rule, and DNS activity are free. Pro adds more lists and rules, advanced Safari controls, Recommended Protection, automatic updates, and iCloud sync.
Void uses a local VPN tunnel to handle DNS requests on iPhone and iPad. It is not a location-changing VPN and does not provide anonymity. Your chosen DNS resolver receives requests that Void allows. Another VPN may conflict with this configuration.
Yes. Set your Safari defaults, then override them for individual websites. Void Pro adds JavaScript and font blocking, media playback controls, custom CSS and JavaScript, and link preferences. HTTPS upgrades apply where supported. On iPhone and iPad, swipe a custom website setting to disable or delete it.
Safari website controls are available across all three platforms, with behavior depending on Safari and the website. Mac also supports desktop actions such as opening links in another browser. DNS filtering uses a local VPN configuration on iPhone and iPad, and a DNS proxy system extension on Mac.
Yes. Add the Protection widget and choose 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or 1 hour in its configuration. Its single control pauses or resumes DNS filtering, with a countdown while paused. Filtering resumes automatically when the timer ends. You can also allow a website through the Safari extension or create a domain exception.
With Void Pro, choose Safari filters and rules, Website Controls, user scripts, and DNS filters and rules independently. Use the same Apple Account on each device. Activity history, protection switches, and Safari permissions remain local. Turning off a sync category keeps its local data.
